Our hospital
We are a 48 bed acute medical, surgical and mental health hospital, proudly serving the north west community of Tasmania since 1988.
Built on a single level surrounded by farmland in the picturesque coastal city of Burnie, our hospital enjoys spectacular coastal views to Table Cape and Bass Strait.
North West Private Hospital in Burnie is proudly a hospital of choice, with specialised private acute medical, surgical and mental health services.
Our hospital benefits from being co-located with North West Medical Centre, University of Tasmania, and North West Regional Hospital (public).
We accept patients with private health insurance, uninsured self-funded patients, Workers Compensation and Motor Accident Insurance Board patients. We also welcome eligible veterans and war widows under our Tier 1 provider relationship with the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA).
