Located in Tasmania's scenic north west, North West Private Hospital offers mothers a boutique birthing experience, within a safe and nurturing environment.
Incorporating 48 acute medical, surgical, mental health and obstetric beds, North West Private Hospital has been proudly serving the north west community of Tasmania since 1988.
Our hospital benefits from being co-located with North West Medical Centre, University of Tasmania, and North West Regional Hospital (public).
As the only birthing service on the North West Coast, we accept both public and private maternity patients, delivering around 1,000 babies each year.
Built on a single level surrounded by farmland in the picturesque coastal city of Burnie, our hospital enjoys spectacular coastal views to Table Top and Bass Strait.

About Burnie
With a population of 20,000, Burnie is located in the North West region of Tasmania ~100km from Launceston and a 4 hour drive from Hobart; where fertile farmland and unspoilt beaches mix with Art Deco architecture, fresh produce and tasteful cafe's.
What's on offer
- Full time, part time and casual Midwifery positions
- Salary + 10.5% Superannuation + Post Graduate Allowance
- Relocation costs (pro-rata up to $10,000 AUD) for successful applicants who stay a minimum of 12 months
- Temporary accommodation for 4 to 6 weeks on arrival
- An opportunity to learn and grow, while supporting the birth experience of local women
